Lev Zeitlin was born in Moscow in 1956. His art and design career launched at age six, painting watercolors of butterfly specimens at a neighborhood art school. He went on to study stage set and puppetry design at the Moscow Theater Arts Technical School, and, following his family's emigration to the US, he entered the Philadelphia College of Art and then Pratt Institute in New York, graduating with a BFA in industrial design.
Today Zeitlin is principal and creative director of Red Square Design in New York, designing products, furniture, lighting, interiors (including exhibition spaces and stage sets), graphics, and books. He has received numerous awards and been featured in publications worldwide. Clients include Marimekko, Versace, Estée Lauder, MasterCard, and many more.
Zeitlin lives in New York with his wife and partner Nadine Hajjar.
